JACQUES BRUN RESOURCE AND RESEARCH CENTRE

La Coupole has its own Resource and Research Centre comprising a public reading room open to families, researchers, or teachers and their pupils. Together with the History Centre and the 3D Planetarium, it is the third founding pillar of the La Coupole.

READ MORE ABOUT THE JACQUES BRUN RESOURCE CENTRE

This centre, dedicated to the conservation and promotion of our collections, is at the heart of all the research projects undertaken at La Coupole’s initiative. All the information collected over several decades, especially concerning the victims of the Nazi regime in the Nord–Pas-de-Calais (execution, internment, deportation or killings) and in the Dora concentration camp, together with the expertise of our facilitators and the experience acquired on these subjects, make the centre a precious tool for those who wish to find out more about what happened to their ancestors.

A RESOURCE CENTRE CONTAINING A GREAT MANY COLLECTIONS

With Science and History at the forefront of its expertise, the Jacques Brun Resource Centre has a wide variety of documentation on the history of rocket-building, the space race, and scientific advances.

The Centre has received many donations of documents from families and from remembrance organisations. Its team of experts not only plays an important role in the conservation and transmission of these archives, but also participates directly in the projects initiated and directed by La Coupole (publications, exhibitions, research on the people deported to Dora from France, etc.).

La Coupole has over many years amassed an impressive collection of documents on three main subjects:

  • The French deportees who spent some time at the Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp.
  • The occupation of the Nord and Pas-de-Calais departments during the Second World War.
  • The history of the space race and the scientific development of rockets.
